Care Offered

Individualized Wellness, Lymphatic, & Rehabilitative Care

Care at NM Wellness, Lymphatics, & Rehabilitation is tailored to
the individual rather than a single diagnosis, symptom, or treatment technique.

Sessions may draw from Manual Lymphatic Drainage, rehabilitation, education,
movement, compression strategies, decongestive interventions,
and other physical and behavioral therapeutic approaches
based on what your body is managing and what you hope to accomplish.

Treatment Sessions

Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD)

Manual Lymphatic Drainage is a specialized, gentle hands-on technique designed to support the movement of lymphatic fluid through the lymphatic system.

Unlike traditional massage, MLD uses specific pressure, direction, rhythm, and sequencing based on lymphatic anatomy and physiology. Treatment is adapted to the individual, including health history, tissue changes, surgical history, areas of congestion or swelling, and the lymphatic pathways available to the body.

MLD may be incorporated into care for swelling, surgical recovery, tissue changes, lymphatic congestion, and other conditions or wellness concerns that may benefit from lymphatic support.

Lymphedema, Lipedema, & Lymphatic Disorders

Lymphedema and Lipedema are distinct conditions, although both may involve changes in tissue health, swelling, mobility, comfort, and lymphatic function. Care is individualized according to the condition, presentation, medical history, tissue changes, functional needs, and goals.

Care is individualized according to the specific condition and presentation, medical and surgical history, tissue changes, functional needs, and the body’s available lymphatic pathways.

Treatment may include Manual Lymphatic Drainage, compression strategies, movement, skin care, education, and individualized self-care. Complete Decongestive Therapy (CDT) may be appropriate when more intensive treatment is needed.

Rehabilitative & Therapeutic Care

Lymphatic concerns do not always occur in isolation. Pain, restricted movement, scar tissue, surgery, injury, inflammation, changes in mobility, and other tissue changes may influence how the body feels and functions.

Rehabilitative care looks beyond a single symptom or technique to consider movement, tissue mobility, function, comfort, and the demands being placed on the body.

Treatment may integrate hands-on techniques, movement, positioning, education, lymphatic support, and practical strategies designed around the individual’s needs and goals.

Care for Older Adults

Aging can bring changes in mobility, circulation, tissue health, strength, recovery, medical complexity, and the ability to comfortably manage everyday activities.

Care for older adults is adapted to the individual—including medical history, mobility, comfort, tissue tolerance, lymphatic health, and personal goals.

Sessions may incorporate gentle hands-on treatment, lymphatic support, movement, positioning, education, and strategies to support comfort and function.

PAYMENT, INSURANCE & REFERRALS

Do I need a referral?
No. A physician or other healthcare provider referral is not required for care at NM Wellness, Lymphatics, & Rehabilitation.

Do you accept insurance?
NMWLR does not bill insurance directly. While insurance coverage for some lymphedema-related services has improved, coverage varies considerably by diagnosis, plan, and treatment.

Remaining independent of insurance allows care to be guided by your individual presentation and clinical needs rather than by the treatment limitations, visit requirements, or administrative restrictions of an insurance plan.

Sessions are $225.
Payment is due at the time of service.
Card, cash, check, and a few electronic payment methods are accepted.
